5/8/15: Jr’s Bar- Farmersburg, Iowa
Our show tonight was at a local Farmersburg bar. We were greeted by a full room of excited listeners and dancers. After the show Gary took us to his cabin. Gary built the cabin 10 years ago. We went down a “class c road” which required all wheel drive, and after hilly twists and turns we came upon a small cabin. This cabin looked like it could be right out of a book, exactly how you would expect, with no electricity, no running water, and a fireplace for warmth. Gary walked us to the outhouse and after watching him brush away a large millipede from the toilet seat I decided I would be waiting to get back into town if nature called. A minute walk from the cabin lead us to a large gorgeous creek with canoes. It was incredible to spend time in the middle of the wilderness, not another person or place in sight.
