9/4/16: Newburgh, IN- Titzer Folk Festival: We were happy to be in southern Indiana in the town of Newburgh for the first time. This show was right off of the water and you couldn’t have asked for a better backdrop. It was a beautiful day and we were happy to be celebrating Michael Titzer’s 50th birthday. Michael and his wife had seen us play a year back at the Ferdinand folk fest and putting on today’s event was a bucket list item for him. We were so happy to be able to help him realize it. After enjoying some music and some tasty burgers and brats (and veggie burgers) we played right off the water. The set was right at dusk and by the end the sun had fully set. It was great getting people up and dancing and we felt so welcomed. Much of the Titzer family was from Hawaii and I’ll never forget how everyone cheered at the end, “Hana Hou” which means one more time, we went out and played off stage. This was a great night and I had a great time showing a bunch of people how to play the spoons after the set. This week run of shows was a ton of fun and we headed home on our late night drive happy with another great week of shows in the books.
