8/5/16: Cincinatti, OH- Ludlow Garage. Before leaving Columbus...

8/5/16: Cincinatti, OH- Ludlow Garage. Before leaving Columbus we stopped at Magnolia records to play a lunchtime acoustic set in the store. We were happy to see some friends from the past night’s show come out, and after the performance and a quick lunch at a build your own taco restaurant down the street (I had Thai ginger octopus tacos called ‘the Kraken’) we left for Cincinatti. We had heard a lot from our friend Gene in Virginia about the Ludlow Garage’s history. The venue had been around for nearly half a century and used to be the hangout place for Janis Joplin. The Allman brothers also recorded their live 1970 album here. The venue’s seating reminded me of a movie theater (you can see the stage shot from the picture above during soundcheck.) The sound was incredible and we were happy with a great crowd, especially in such a large venue. We have yet to have a bad show in Ohio on this tour and tonight was no exception. We were so happy to see our good friend Adam who Collin knew from Kaufman bluegrass summer programs that he attended when he was younger. After the show John, Travis and I headed to a friend’s house where we sat on their back porch and enjoyed the beautiful evening over some pizza and good company. I also wanted to give a big thank you to our friend Jacque, who had helped to make these Ohio shows amazing, you’re the best! (Also thanks to our friend Adam Grillot for the top photo)
