8/13/16: Chicago, IL- Martyrs. The day had finally come that we had made our way back to Martyrs here in Chicago. It was so good to be playing at home and we were excited to have the incredible bands Stillshine and Idea Garden playing with us. Before our set we sat down with Kristin from “A Beer With The Band,” a great online journal and had an excellent interview. We had a great time hanging with the other bands and even jamming with Dan Andree of Idea Garden before the show. Dan and Aaron brought the rest of the guys from Henhouse Prowlers up for a few songs during their set and it was amazing. I have to say it is a little intimidating having to play after such incredible musicians. We felt a massive amount of love and support at this show and it was so great to get to share our new album with all our Chicago friends and family. The show was a blast and seeing so many people out to support was ridiculous. We ended the night with a brand new acoustic encore, Cecelia by Simon and Garfunkel. This was an electric moment and we couldn’t think of a better way to end the night then getting everyone singing, stomping and clapping. We feel so lucky to have had such an incredible night here in the city. After over a month on the road we have a few days off and Travis can make his way back to Michigan for the week. We can’t wait for our upcoming shows including Greensky Bluegrass’ festival, Hoxeyville, and Rock the Farm, which is just outside of Peoria and helps to support the Easter Seals foundation.
