5/26-5/29 Chillicothe, IL- Summer Camp Music Festival. Summer Camp 2015 was a definite highlight of our previous year, and making our way back for summer ‘16 couldn’t have been more exciting. We had an incredible time playing the pre-party on Thursday night to (literally) thousands of people, and our Friday set with Oxfam was awesome as well. It was great to get to play for a great cause, and Oxfam is an incredible organization to support. It was also awesome to have the Peoria Journal Star put us on the front page of the paper! (See above) We were a little nervous about our Saturday set as dark clouds edges their way into view. A flash of lightning delayed the soundcheck and gave us a much shorter set time. We got up after some heavy storming with a rainbow in the sky and opened our set with 'Have You Ever Seen the Rain’ by CCR. The crowd was electric and we were so excited for the short set. Unfortunately just 4 songs in another lightning strike filled the sky and our set was cut off. We wished that the show could have gone on, but we were glad to have gotten to play a few songs. With two and a half sets of music, the weekend was a great time. When we had time off of playing I got to see some incredible music like The Wailers, Umphey’s McGee, Chicago Farmer and Lettuce. A highlight of Collin and Austin’s was Rising Appalachia. We loved our Summer Camp experience and hope to be back next year with some clearer skies!
