2/16/17-2/18/17: Kansas City, Missouri- Kansas City Folk...

2/16/17-2/18/17: Kansas City, Missouri- Kansas City Folk Alliance. A weekend like no other, the KC international folk alliance hosts hundreds of musical acts from around the world. We played sets in hotel rooms converted to tiny acoustic concert venues all weekend long. We all got to see some incredible musical acts from all over the world like the Armenian jazz fusion group Authentic Light Orchestra from Switzerland, the great Irish duo Socks in the Frying Pan, and the Nashville based group, Barefoot Movement. I went to college with their bass player and really enjoyed their set, especially their bluegrass cover of “Crazy Train.” We also saw a handful of great sets from our friends on the Americana agency which included Lindsay Lou & The Flatbellies, Anna Egge and Carrie Elkin. We feel so lucky to be a part of an agency filled with such talented acts and it was great getting to see some of them for the first time. The weekend was a whirlwind of playing, meeting new people and jamming with friends. After seeing so many great musical acts here at FA we left inspired to keep pushing ourselves with our writing and performances, but after the long weekend we were ready to have a day or two off in Nashville before we continue the next few weeks of southern touring.
