Treading Water

Today I sailed the river way down

And by tomorrow the water will wash away this town.

People living in fear because tides can turn.

Don't be a fool on the hill like a worm to the birds.

You've gotta find some truth to hold

Your roots below will grow even though they might now show

You and I both know

that we hate to complain can't explain what we feel in our souls

I just let it go and the waves will take their place for days and I won't wait nor hesitate to find the road that I do belong on

I heard a man made plan to put some land in the bay.

All I see is islands from high land eroding away.

You can try and try to stop the flow to the sea.

I'm sure that your money of some sort is a force indeed.

I hope you keep working and wasting your dimes

because the land knows truth it tells tale of time .

I thought I could finally find a form that was larger than mine.

I can't see it that well but I'm tryin

You and I both know t

hat we hate to complain can't explain what we feel in our souls

I just let it go and the waves will take their place for days

and I won't wait nor hesitate

To tread the water when the ship has been sunk.

Treading the water when the ship has been sunk.

Treading the water when the ship has been sunk.

Treading the water it gets harder and we're swimming for the sun
